Description

Eight tropical fruit bubble teas in one box

Tropical Treasures makes eight fruit bubble teas, each a different flavour: passion fruit, watermelon, grapefruit, peach, green apple, lychee, lemon and strawberry. It’s the kit to buy when the whole family wants in, or when friends are coming over.

There are eight toppings too. Lychee, peach, passion fruit and strawberry popping boba sit alongside coconut, mango, grape and green apple jelly, with 180g of tapioca pearls on top of that.

This kit includes two kinds of tea. Five jasmine green tea bags give a light, floral base, and three Assam black tea bags make a stronger, maltier drink. The lemon and peach flavours both stand up well to Assam.

It’s vegan and gluten free, and everything is portioned per drink, so a party of eight can each make their own.

How to make it

  1. Cook the tapioca pearls in boiling water as shown on the recipe card, then rinse in cold water.
  2. Brew one tea bag per drink and let it cool.
  3. Add a portion of fruit tea flavour to a cup filled with ice cubes.
  4. Spoon in your boba or jelly topping, pour over the tea, stir with a plastic straws and enjoy!

How many people does Tropical Treasures serve?

Eight. There are eight fruit tea flavours, each portioned for one regular drink of around 500ml, plus enough toppings and pearls for all eight.

Why are there two types of tea bag?

The jasmine green tea gives a light base that suits delicate flavours like lychee. The Assam black tea is stronger and works well with lemon, peach and passion fruit.

What's the difference between Tropical Treasures and Exotic Escapades?

Exotic Escapades makes four tropical drinks. Tropical Treasures makes eight, has eight toppings instead of four, and adds Assam black tea bags.

Can I make the drinks ahead for a party?

Brew and chill the tea a few hours before, and keep the flavour pots in the fridge once opened. Cook the tapioca pearls close to serving time so they stay soft.

What should I do with leftover cooked pearls?

Coat them in a little sugar or honey syrup and keep them at room temperature. Don't refrigerate cooked tapioca pearls, as they go hard.
